Are You Missing Amino Acids?

Posted by Jessica Nazarali on

Amino acids are the building blocks for protein. Without them, we can’t enjoy a great physique and will also suffer from muscle wasting and impeded metabolism.

Branched chain amino acids are essential to not only body builders but to people living every day, active lives. This is why amino acid supplements can be very beneficial.

The thinner we get, due to dieting or training, the harder it for our body to maintain lean muscle mass. And the less amount of muscle we have, the more our bodies try to hold onto their fat stores. This is caused by a loss or protein or catabolism – where muscle is broken down so that the body can use the amino acids in them as fuel.

The more lean muscle we have, the less the body will have to borrow amino acids stores from ourselves. This is essentially a constant battle, so the more amino acids you put into your body, the easier it is for your body to both create muscle and carry out metabolic functions so that you have plenty of energy – to break down food, walk up a flight of stairs, or just breathe and keep your heart pumping.

Branched chain amino acids are helpful in two ways – they can increase the rate of protein synthesis and also the capacity for protein synthesis so you stay strong and full of energy even when you slim down.

Amino acid supplementation has been practiced by body builders for years, but you can also take advantage of this practice if you just live an active life and enjoy the benefits of greater energy and a great looking body.
