How Drinking Tea Can Improve Your Health

Posted by Jessica Nazarali on

Herbal teas are a great way to enjoy the medicinal affects of several plants in a pleasant tasting beverage. There are three great teas you can start with when endeavoring to become an herbal tea connoisseur:

  1. Brahmi – also called Gotu Kola, this amazing herb has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. It enhances memory, improves concentration, and adds clarity to all our mental processes. It has even been used to treat depression and insomnia as well as dementia in aging patients. Brahmi is named ‘the enlightened one’ because it is so curative.
  2. Rooibos – this type of tea is red in color (also called Redbush tea) and helps to cure all sorts of ailments. It soothes an upset stomach, improves digestion, reduces irritability, lessens headaches and helps with insomnia and nervousness. It can help with nausea, vomiting and stomach ulcers. It has absolutely no caffeine and has a very calming effect on the nervous system. It is also anti-spasmodic and can even help infants who are suffering from colic.
  3. Dandelion Leaf tea – a wonderful tea that helps to purify the blood and supports the kidney and pancreas. Dandelion helps the pancreas by helping to increase insulin secretions, which is helpful for diabetics. The leaves are a diuretic and can even help to dissolve kidney stones. Dandelion also helps with cellulite and fluid retention.
